Naruto 454: Preparing for the Kage Summit

(The Scene starts at Konoha, in Danzou’s Hut.)

“Lord Danzou, the location of the Kage Summit is at the Fire Country’s Daimyou headquarters,” said Anbu Servant 1.

“A suitable meeting place, considering the Land of Fire is surrounded by the other great Shinobi Nations on all sides. It makes it more convenient for all parties,” said Danzou.

“What about Uzumaki, surely once you leave the village, he is free to roam, he’s not one to be restrained,” said Anbu Servant 2.

(Sai comes in, interrupting the meeting.)

“Sai here, reporting for next objective,” said Sai. “Good. Now, what has Naruto gotten himself into? Explain to me of his next plans,” said Danzou.

“Nothing, he said nothing,” said Sai. “Hmm, oh really,” said Danzou. (Danzou makes a hand seal; all of a sudden Sai falls straight down on the floor and starts to shake uncontrollably.)

“You’ve never lied to me before, why the certain change? I can monitor the chakra waves of your body through this hand seal, your previous words states otherwise with your claim. Has this Naruto gotten to you too,” asked Danzou. “ARRGHH, he said nothing,” groaned Sai. “You do know that the seal in your mouth may hide secrets from the enemy however, from me I am able to probe information out of you. That’s one of the secrets behind my jutsu,” said Danzou.

“ARRGHH,” grunted Sai. (Sai has flash backs of team 7.) “Looks like you want things the hard way,” said Danzou. (He makes another hand seal, and all of a sudden, Sai spills his guts.)

“Naruto is planning to assist the Cloud ninja in recovering their master, a host that was captured by Uchiha Sasuke. Right now, he is releasing information about Akatuski and Sasuke to them, so they can form a joined platoon and execute their next objective” said Sai. (Danzou releases the jutsu.)

“Hmm, so he thinks he can just evade my watch. Sai, you will accompany me as an escort to the Kage Summit. Get your equipment ready,” said Danzou.

(Sai rubs his throat to ease the pain.)

“Yes your honor,” said Sai. “And since you enjoy backing up for Naruto. That is exactly what you will be doing. Your friend will now be your fellow partner in escorting me to the Kage Summit. This is an important mission, an S-Ranked Mission. If everything goes smoothly, it will make your record sheets look even more impressive,” said Danzou.

“Understood, moving out,” said Sai. (He leaves to get his gear together.)

“You two, stop Naruto from leaving the village at all costs. I could careless if it takes an entire squad of you to persuade him. It works out better this way, now I can monitor him at all times,” said Danzou.

(Switch Scene Switches to Naruto, Karui and Omoi. They’re in Naruto’s armory room in his house.)

“So, this Sasuke uses lightning elemental ninjutsu,” said Karui. “The way you explain make him sound similar to how Killer Bee channels chakra into his blades,” said Omoi.

“He moves very fast as well. At first I wasn’t sure if I could keep up with him. Also, given that he was part of the Uchiha Clan, he also has a liking for fire elemental ninjutsu. But, we shouldn’t concern ourselves with that right now. We need to go looking for your master,” said Naruto.

“True that,” said Omoi. (Naruto puts on a cloak, similar to the one he wore when he defeated Pain. He then picks up a scroll and puts it on.)

“Are you ready,” asked Karui.

“Just about; these are Akatuski we are dealing with, I’d doubt they’d just let us walk in and save him,” said Naruto.

“What else do you know about Akatuski,” asked Karui. “I’ve taken out Pain, who I thought was to be a leader, but I’ve heard there is a guy above him. I’ve also defeated a guy called Kakuzu,” said Naruto.

“You must be very accomplished to be able to do something like that, but who is this man behind him,” asked Omoi.

“I’m not really sure. I know he has a mask and all of our ninjutsu just passes right through him. (Karui and Omoi are shocked.) He’s the most dangerous of them all I guess,” said Naruto.

“Anything about their plans,” asked Karui. “I just know what I’ve been told. Akatuski is gathering up all the hosts, and it is said that an entire shinobi country could be wiped out in a second with a kinjutsu using all the beasts’ power. I don’t know what they plan to use it for, but its definitely bad news,” said Naruto.

“To think they’d do something like that,” said Karui. “No wonder such a shady organization gets so much bad rep,” said Omoi.

“Then there’s this plant looking guy, who appeared out of no where. I don’t know anything about him besides that he’s a scout, that’s all I pulled from the book on him. Finally, there’s this guy who carries a huge sword. I think his name was Kisame, he was once part of a group that this one guy my squad took care of. Seven mists swordsmen. His blade absorbs chakra,” said Naruto.

“Nice intel. So tell me, is that all of them. I would assume there would be more,” said Karui. “Nah, my squad, and the rest of Konoha help put an end to Akatuski members. And Sasuke has also played his part. I got most of my information on the members from a book that had information about Akatuski in it,” said Naruto.

“You said Sasuke played his part, yet he is with Akatuski, what is up with that,” asked Omoi. “I don’t know. I have a feeling he was brainwashed. Still, it doesn’t justify what he did to you guys. We’ll get to the bottom of this though,” said Naruto.

“Are you ready,” asked Karui.

(Naruto produces two shadow clones they run to the corner and began gathering chakra.)

“Shadow clones? What for,” asked Omoi. “They help me balance natural energy,” said Naruto. “WHAT,” asked Omoi. “You guys aren’t Sages, you shouldn’t worry about it then,” said Naruto.

“OH, you think you are so cool cuz you an oversized scroll and a robe,” said Karui. “Yeah, our blades are way cooler. SEE, SEE,” yelled Omoi. (He pulls out his blade and starts swinging it around.)

“Careful Omoi, you might cut somebody,” said Karui. (Naruto grabs his bag, and they step outside, automatically Kakashi catches to up them.)

“Going after Sasuke anyway ehh,” asked Kakashi. “First things first though. I’m helping them go save their master,” said Naruto. “I’m so sorry Naruto. I didn’t want to believe it either, about Sasuke I mean. I know how you must feel, considering that you too are a host. Anyway, you do realize the seriousness of this action; leaving the village, going against the elders. I hope you are prepared for the consequences,” said Kakashi.

“I know. But I also know what it is like to lose my master. I don’t want anyone to go through that pain,” said Naruto. (Karui and Omoi start crying in the background.)

“He’s so noble,” sob Karui. “We are going to save you master, as long as we have this guy on our side,” sob Omoi.

“Huh. I guess there’s no stopping you. Heck, if it wasn’t for your reasons, we’d all be dead,” said Kakashi.

(Samui walks by.)
“You guys done goofing off? Let’s go find us some Uchiha,” said Samui. “Ma’am,” yelled Omoi and Karui. “But first, we’ve been told that our Master may still be alive, but his time is short. We should go after him first and foremost, then Sasuke later,” said Karui.

(All of a sudden a dozen anbu ops appear and surround Naruto.)

“What is this,” asked Naruto. “It seems Danzou caught on,” said Kakashi.

“Uzumaki Naruto. You will be an escort to Danzou. You and Sai will accompany him to the Hokage Summit, which will be held at the Fire Country’s Daimyou headquarters,” said Anbu 1.

“Damn it, he just wants to keep an eye on me. Well I’m not going,” said Naruto.

“Naruto calm down. Even if that really is the case, you have no say in the matter. This is an S-Ranked Mission, you can’t just ignore this,” said Kakashi.

“If it is so important, why don’t you just go instead and let me handle my business,” said Naruto. “This is going against the Hokage’s orders. You leaving the village, and not showing up as an escort. This will result in some penalties,” said Anbu 2.

“Really now, I’d like to see you try and put me in the slammer,” yelled Naruto. “Lord,” said Samui. “Never mind. These Konoha men are crazy,” said Karui. “Awesome. This guy has some character,” said Omoi.

“Careful, this guy took the Akatuski leader, the man that reduced this village to rubble,” said Anbu 3. “Don’t worry, we have him outnumbered,” said Anbu 7.

(Kakashi places his arm on Naruto’s shoulder, calming him.)

“Naruto, what has gotten into you? These are your fellow villagers. Even if you don’t like this Danzou character, he is still the Hokage for the time being. Calm down and rethink things. Naruto, you will assist Danzou. (Kakashi whispers secretly to Naruto.) Don’t worry about the Cloud. I’ll go and help them find their master,” said Kakashi.

“Thanks, Kakashi,” said Naruto.

“Looks like I’m your new escort,” said Kakashi.

“Excuse me, I didn’t quite catch your name,” said Samui. “I’m Kakashi, known as the Copy Ninja,” said Kakashi. “Not bad,” said Samui. “Copy Ninja of the Leaf? I guess we can live with those odds. Killer Bee was quite the fan,” said Omoi.

“I guess he is kind of cool looking. I wonder what’s under that mask,” blushed Karui.

“Now, you three come along. We’ll go get this sanctioned,” said Kakashi.

“Kakashi, about Sasuke,” said Naruto. “Don’t worry about Sasuke at the moment. Deal with what you have to deal with. I’ll try my best to reason with him, if I get the chance. But I won’t be making in promises either. He’s chosen this path

(Flash back of Kakashi trying to persuade Sasuke to give up on revenge.), it might not ever be possible to change him back, but I’ll be okay,” said Kakashi.

(Switch Scene to Akatuski hideout; Madara is at The God of hell Statues.)

“From what I understand from your stories, the moon appeared every time you summoned the Kyuubi,” said Dark Zetsu.

“Yes. It is a special type of suppression technique that can even seal up the Kyuubi. The Mangekyou’s genjutsu allows me control over the tailed beast once I releases from the Moon created by the Mangekyou Sharingan. We’ll be taking the seven tails with us to the summit. With this, Sasuke should be in good shape to take Danzou’s head without interference from the other Kages,” said Madara

“Is it necessary to use the seven tails, and are you sure you can really trust Sasuke with one of your precious pets? You see how he was just moments ago,” said Dark Zetsu.

“I want no mistakes like last time; therefore I think the seven tails’ power is required. As for Sasuke’s morale, I’ll monitor him closely from the Summit. If things get out of hand and he can’t handle it himself, I’ll use the technique on my own. This is a fail-safe so that Sasuke actually gets the job done. By the way, have you fetched my things yet,” asked Madara.

“Here they are,” said Zetsu. (Mizukage’s attire.)

“Great. Now I’ll prepare the ritual,” said Madara. (Madara’s eye finally turns EMS.)

(Switch Scene to Team Falcon being led by Light Zetsu.)

“Now, how do you plan about killing Danzou? I’d love to believe that you’d have plan considering what you are up against,” said Light Zetsu.

“These Kage are no joke. They are stated to be the strongest of shinobi in their village. I don’t see us just simply rolling over them,” said Karin.

“So, what’s the plan Sasuke,” asked Suigetsu.

“We’ll watch the Summit from afar. Striking at the wrong time could indeed attract unwanted attention,” said Sasuke. “Why don’t you just use Amaterasu to take care of things,” asked Suigetsu.

“To avoid all possible costs of creating more enemies, I’ve have decided to let the Kages finished their discussions. Once the meeting concludes, I’ll have a higher chance of success. After they all head back to their respective locales, I’ll sneak up on Danzou and claim his head,” said Sasuke.

Naruto 454 Prediction

Naruto and Team 7 stand next to Karuhi and Omoi. Sakura still sobs about Sasuke being with Akatsuki.

Karuhi asks Naruto. “Your called Naruto? Naruto as in Uzumaki Naruto who beat Pain the Akatsuki leader and who trained under the legendary Sannin Jiraya?” “That’s right, that’s me and therefore I understand your feelings for Killerbee because Jiraya was also killed by the Akatsuki leader Pain. Why do you ask?” Naruto returns. “I just couldn’t believe a simple mind like you would be able to do that.” Naruto feels offended but didn’t show it. “So I wanted to know. Anyway what is with the Uchiha renegade you said you will provide us any information you got.” She comments. “I said I will and I will. I will tell you while we search for your master together.” He loud speaks. Sakura who calmed down then states. “What? only if you take me with you.” Sai also speaks. “Count me in as well.” “Well, since your defeated Pain, you sure wouldn’t be a burden and I saw you fight. Omui you also agree?” she asks. “I’m fine with it and that Sai guy also seems to be a usable fighter if we encounter someone mean. We sure could use some backup if a mean Akatsuki shows up. If me meet with Akatsuki the will bomb the fighting place we’re on. This will cause a big earthquake which destroys all near villages…” he starts to say but Karuhi pissed interrupts. “Stop that, will ya. However we are OK with it, only our leader Samui remains but if we tell about your skills she also won’t mind.” Karuhi explains. “But this girl, she is kinda cute…” Sakura shivers a moment. “…seems pretty useless, we shouldn’t put her in danger. If we hit a mean Akatsuki she will be in danger. The Akatsuki will attack and finally kill her first. Then he laughs evil and attacks us. After we killed him we lost this pretty and I couldn’t bear it and…” He again starts a story. “Sigh, will you ever change… Anyway I must agree with him. During our little brawl she seemed kind of useless and only caught hits…” Then Sakura yelled in anger. “What did you just say… I’m may not be as strong as Naruto or Sasuke but I ‘m Tsunades student and an excellent medical Ninja, not to mention my dodging and punching skills…” Then Kakashi comes in. “Calm down you two. I saw everything in here and I must say impressive especially from you Naruto but however, it won’t be that easy. You just can’t leave the village so easily or else you will be missing nins like Sasuke is. You need the approval of the Hokage to do so.” He lectures them. Naruto is angry.

“So the Kage summit is about to start and it will be hold in one of the small neutral countries in our neighbourhood?” Danzou says to Samui. “Yes indeed and you should now tell me about this Uchiha kid if we’re gonna to chase him.” Samui says. “Sure, sure… You should know Hatake Kakashi.” He states. “Of course I do, who does not know about the legendary Copycat Ninja of Konoha but what has this to do with the information you promised us and which I now demand.” Samui enraged says. “One thing after an other. He was the Jounin in charge of the Uchiha you search for while he still was one of Konohas Ninjas. He will give you all information you need. Just take this order to him and you will learn everything. Then he summons a letter. He should be somewhere in our village and helping rebuilding. I now want you to leave. I must make preparations for my parting. My regards.” He finishes. While she leaves she thinks. “I don’t like this guy. He has something at him which makes you creep and he is a cold, logic warmonger… We should stay aware of him but there is more eager business to take care of now. The killing of Uchiha Sasuke.”

“So the summit about further actions will be held soon, I just wonder if it will be better to take Sai as my bodyguard with me. Since I ordered Kakashi to lock Naruto away in Konoha until I say something else it should be okay. The other Kages don’t like me much and the Tsuchikage not even likes Konoha while the Mizukage is a mystery it may be better this way…”

Switch back to Naruto

Samui appears sudden and sees Kakashi. “That is a nice coincidence, Kakashi Hatake I just met the Hokage for information exchange and he gave me orders for you to tell me about this Uchiha kid. I hope you will fill them immediately.” She says. “Orders? Let’s see” he wonders. “Sensai Kakashi, what orders?” Naruto asks. “They say I shall tell the cloud nins everything I know about Sasuke.” “What were you two doing Omui, Karuhi and why are standing around with them?” she asks. “Well, we thought we gather information by ourselves.” Omui answers. “And?!” “Well we just met the former Team mates of him. One is a girl who seemingly still loves him even after learning what became of him and the boy who is the Kyuubi host and the one who defeated their leader Pain.” Karuhi says. “Did you find out anything about this Sasuke at all?” Samui with a lifted eyebrow curious asks. “Well, he said master Killerbee could be still alive and that our first goal should be to search for him.” “And you believe him? Idiotic.” She argues. “He seems not to try anything strange besides he knows about our loss because Pain killed Jiraya who mast his master. Further he promised us to give us all information if we take him with us while we search.” Karuhi concludes. “Is that so? I want to talk to him myself. Is it the blonde ore the black haired one?” she ends. “The blonde and naive boy there.” Omui comments. “So, then I will follow this orders for now” Kakashi announces and soon after Samui comes to them. “That fits well, I will tell you about everthing about Sasuke though Naruto would be better cuz he had more contact with him alone than me. Anyway, let’s start…” Kakashi starts to reveal all about Sasuke…

Some panels about their movement with one half of Zetsu and Sasuke thinking. “Naruto beat Pain, unbelievable. After I killed Danzou I will head to Konoha with his head and kill Naruto as well. I will proof he is still weak and besides, he killed the one who destroyed Konoha, which I want to do. He will pay, all will pay…” Then Zetsu speaks to him. “What is Sasuke, something seemingly bothers you; doubt you would be able to kill him?” “…” “Of course he will, Sasuke is the strongest Ninja of all. But what IS this Tobi guy?” “I never saw Sasuke like that…” Suigetso thinks.

Switch scene to the hidden Rock

Tsuchikage dono, we received an invitation to a Kage summit regarding the latest moves of Akatsuki. It will be held near Konoha and all Kages will be there, shall I tell the messenger you will come as well or shall I sent him in to report everything?” a Hidden Rock ninja shouts. “No need now, you can tell me later as well. Tell him I also will come and sent him back.” He calm says. “Understand Tsuchikage-sama.” Then he rushes out. “I see, this may be a chance to get revenge at Konoha, this will be interesting…” Someone enters from the shadows. “A Kabuto, you finally here, this means you eventually acquired the power of Orochimaru you wanted so long?!” the Tsuchikage asks. “Yes master though the cells still won’t give up but this is only a question of time…” Kabuto strange states. “Well, you sure has much to report and I’m eager to hear it. It is just sad that we have to erase Konoha ourself instead of let Orochimaru do it…”

Naruto 453: Konoha at the Center of Attention

(Team 7 learns of Sasuke’s erratic behavior.)

“You can’t seriously believe this, right Naruto? Sasuke would never join such a shady organization,” said Sakura. “Who cares what you think! He was caught red handed in an Akatuski cloak carrying away our master,” yelled Omoi.

“How you can even stand up for a missing nin who left the village and joined an s-class criminal organization is nothing short of insanity,” said Karui. “And Akatuski did this to your village, how could you fools be so stupid enough to over look this. The mighty Konoha has definitely fallen,” said Omoi.

“Wait just one second! I won’t let you talk down to Sasuke and our village like that,” yelled Sakura. (She balls up her fists.) “Looks like she wants some more. Fine, after we are done with her, I’ll gladly have me some Uchiha on my plate,” said Omoi.

(Karui flips her blade) “This time I’ll cut her,” said Karui. (Naruto stops Sakura. Sai is shocked.)

“Naruto, what are you doing? Let me go, this is Sasuke we’re talking about,” said Sakura. “Tell me something Cloud ninja. Was there something special about your master,” said Naruto.

“Special as in his amazing strength,” said Omoi. “Was he, a jinchuurikii,” said Naruto. “Nnn, Naruto,” mumbled Sakura. “TELL ME, was your master a Jinchuurikii,” yelled Naruto.

“Yes. He was the eight tailed beast,” said Karui. “Master spent most of his young life protecting the village. At first everyone was scared of him. But after risking his life time and time again, the people began to except him as part of the village. (Naruto reflects on himself) Raikage, his older brother, placed him, our Master in those situations in order for the villagers to respect him,” said Omoi.

(Flash Back of the Eight Tails Released facing off against hordes of shinobi.)

“He was so strong. He was an experienced swordsmen type shinobi. We looked up to him. We wanted to be strong just like him and protect the village. We begged and begged, and finally with the kindness of his heart, he took us under his wing. We finally grew strong enough to join Samui who, like our Master, is a top Jounin in our village and reports directly to Raikage. Then we eventually formed our platoon. We were just like our Master, in the sense that we were the Hokage’s most trusted. Still, its unreal that he’s been captured,” said Karui.

“We called him Killer Bee and he was everything to us. He took us good for nothing kids and changed us into top shinobi. That’s why, I’ll never forgive that Uchiha bastard,” said Omoi.

“I understand,” said Naruto. “What, how could you possibly understand. Killer Bee had it hard his entire life. And all of a sudden, Akatuski takes him away, for what, because he has special power to exploit,” yelled Omoi. “You Konoha ninja make me sick,” said Karui.

“Your master and I, are similar,” said Naruto. “What are you getting at,” asked Omoi. “I am also a jinchuurikii. I am the 9 tailed host and I recently defended the village from Akatuski, because they wanted me,” said Naruto.

“So you are like him, a host,” said Karui. “My apologies. Your life must have been difficult as well. You said you saved the village. Perhaps you are Killer Bee’s ongoing will. In that case, we’ll sit here and get to understand the situation,” said Omoi.

(Karui and Omoi jump over to Team 7’s location.)

“Naruto, you don’t think Sasuke really did this,” asked Sakura. (Flash back of Itachi’s words)

“Sasuke is still pure, but he can be easily painted,” said Itachi.

(Back to present)

“Someone told me that Sasuke might have changed,” said Naruto. “But who,” asked Sakura. “It doesn’t matter, but that’s not all. That man with the mask. The Akatuski member that went after Sasuke. I know something about him,” said Naruto.

(Flash back of Minato talking about the masked man manipulating Pain.)

“Is it really ok to be listening to this,” said Karui. “It’ll bring us to a better solution,” said Omoi.

(Sakura is confused and is about to ask Naruto to elaborate, but he speaks on.)

“You two. Leave Sasuke to me. I’m sure I can end it,” said Naruto. “Hay listen, this was the guy that defeated our master, surely you can’t handle him alone,” said Omoi.

(Flash back of Itachi.)

“I gave you some of my power. I hope the day comes when you never have to use it,” said Itachi.

(Back to the present.)

“No. Its something I have to do. So I insist, don’t pursue Sasuke. I’ll go after him,” said Naruto. “Well, based on the reports, he had three allies with him. Its likely he used them to help him defeat our master,” said Karui. “We’ll at least make them pay for their treachery,” smiled Omoi. “Thank you,” said Naruto.

Switch Scene to Danzou’s hut:

“So, the Hokage summit will take place in Konoha,” said Danzou. “Yeah, I’m assuming due to geographical location, Konoha is the most viable spot. The Fire country is between the great shinobi countries, and since Konoha is a prestigious nation, its the best location for the summit,” said Anbu 1.

“Heh. I wonder what they’ll think once they see that we’re in shambles,” said Anbu 2.

Switch Scene to Sand Village:

“What is it Temari,” asked Gaara. “Its an urgent summit of the Five Great Kages,” said Temari. “Hmm. I wonder what’s going on. Konoha seems to be the location. I’ll wonder if I’ll see him there,” said Gaara.

Switch Scene to Tsuchigakure:

(He’s cloaked up)

“Summit of the Kages. Konoha… Its been years since the 3rd shinobi war. I wonder if there is still some tension,” said Tsuchikage.

Switch Scene: Raikage Dashes to Konoha

Switch scene to Kabuto

The long, oak table, where Konoha and the Land of Fire’s top officials gathered, was shocked at the Fire ruler’s sudden outburst, particularly Shikaku.

“It is decided, Danzo shall be the Sixth Hokage of Konoha,” declared the Fire Daimyo to sparse applause from his retainers and scowls from the assembled shinobi, outside of the Elders who seemed undecided.

“My lord, as jonin representative I really must protest, perhaps a vote among the chunins and jonins would better reflect the majority’s belief that Hatake Kakashi is the best successor to the Fifth,” reasoned Shikaku.
Seeing his only bastion of firm support, the Daimyo and his retainers, waiver Danzo jumped to his feet.

“The cowardly Third and those who follow his philosophy have brought this village to near ruin, after years of the Third, it’s only right that a man of action is put in charge. We cannot have votes in a time of emergency such as now, we must be swift and relentless in showing the other villages our strength” the “Root” leader retorted.

“Enough!” bellowed the strange Daimyo, “We’ve made our decision: Konoha is under your command Danzo, do not let us down.” With that the Land of Fire’s political elite followed their master out of the airy conference chamber.
Danzo gets to his feet and walks past Shikaku to the exit, where two masked ‘Root’ members await their commanding officer.

Shikaku glances dangerously at Danzo and rushes to an alternative exit to warn Kakashi to look after the bed-ridden Fifth.

Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi and Shizune sombrely surround Tsunade, the once stunningly beautiful Senju princess. Covered in easily seen wrinkles and her face robbed of its youthful lustre, Sakura could barely hold back her tears. Her master, the medical genius of Konoha, was still in a coma and even Shizune was unsure if she could recover.

I promise to make you proud, Tsunade-sama! Please be around to watch me grow into someone you can be truly call your apprentice….Sakura mentally pleaded as Naruto and Kakashi got up to fetch some food and water for their exhausted comrades.
“I am sure Tsunade-sama will recover,” Shizune quietly surmised. “She needs you more than ever Sakura, you’re her legacy in Konoha, her gift to the village.”
“Why me, you’re her first pupil Shizune-sempai!’
“I may be her first, but you are her favourite,” declared Shizune with one of her trademark radiant smiles.

Outside of the large tent for the Fifth, an entire unit of ANBU ‘Root’ lay in wait for the confirmation from the Sixth. The 4-man unit stays hidden behind the large trees surrounding the tent, grasping their standard-issue ninjatos.

Samui, Omoi and Karui march to the make-shift tent city built where Konoha once was and are pointed to the largest tent, the new office of the Hokage.

“I wonder who it is…,” ponders Omoi, “maybe they chose a hottie as their leader like last time! Or maybe she’ll be a beast like Karui….wow that’s depressing.”
Omoi barely ducked under the barrage of shuriken thrown by his angered teammate. They managed to reach the large, but amazingly drab tent that was the Hokage’s new residence. All around masked ANBU were on guard and only after showing their Land of Fire permits were they let in to meet with the new shinobi ruler.

Samui’s beautiful face erupted in confusion when she saw Danzo sit on a makeshift throne, surrounded by his sychophantic operatives.

That man! He was Raikage-sama’s ally in Konoha about 4 years ago, how did he become Hokage so soon? Was it a coup as they had discussed? That’d explain the heavy guard… she pondered, ignoring the looks from her teammates. “Welcome to Konoha, Cloud ninja. I am the lord and master of this village, the Rokudaime Hokage,” Danzo bragged with a smile from ear-to-ear.

Naruto and Kakashi gather water at a nearby stream only to have Shikaku run up, out of breath and rambling incoherently.

“Danzo…he… the Fire Daimyo….he’s the Sixth!” exploded the jonin representative.
The son and former pupil of the Fourth could only gaze at Shikamaru’s father with utter confusion and allow the man to re-gain his breath.

“It’s Danzo, he overcame my objection, he’s the newly appointed Sixth!” he finally blurted after several rasping breaths.

Naruto’s eyes grew in shock as Kakashi’s one eye narrowed menacingly.
